UHF Readers
A UFH Reader is an Ultra Frequency Reader that supplies power to the passive and active cards through the chip in the card. A passive card has only a circuit built in, which uses radio frequency to take the energy from the UHF reader. An active card has power supplied by a small battery connected to the circuit. It gives more power and range to the card. UHF readers work on radio frequency.
The UHF reader can be used to give access to vehicles, people, or tracking stock. Mainly it is used for perimeter access control for monitoring the traffic.
The UHF reader comes in various shapes and sizes; some have beep sound or LED lights for their operations. The detection of the card through the card reader ranges from 3 meters to 25 meters, depending on the reader.
The UHF reader is fixed to the post by a clamp supplied with the reader, and also it can be wall mounted and connected to the controller through the Weigand connection. The Weigand formats can be 26 and 34 bits. The controller converts the Wiegand formats to a signal through a relay that opens the gate barrier, sliding door, garage door, speed gates, etc.
